Students who believe they are qualified are strongly encouraged to apply. Students are encouraged to fill out the application to be considered and nominations are also welcome. Students, faculty and staff may also be nominated for an award.
Recipients will receive a monetary award and special recognition at an awards banquet in the spring.

Nomination and Application Period
The nomination and application period opens September 1, 2024. The deadline for nominations, applications and all supporting materials is 11:59 p.m. on November 5, 2024. All members of the UA community may nominate qualified students, faculty and staff. Only students may apply.
After nominations or applications are received, the individuals nominated and individuals listed as references will receive a request to submit their required supporting documents (which vary by award; for more information, see Awards).
Student Applications
Any student who meets the criteria for a student award may apply. You may only apply for one award. The application must be filled out in one sitting and you will need to make sure your reference is aware so they have time to complete their portion of the application (letter of reference attachment). Please have the following ready before starting the application:
- Resume
- Award Specified Essay
- Letter of Reference Name and Email
- Anticipated Graduation Date
If you are applying on or near the deadline, it is heavily advised to make sure your reference knows their portion of the application (letter of reference attachment) is due by 11:59 PM on November 5.
Nominations and Letters of Reference
Faculty, staff, and students may make nominations. Please complete the nomination form. You may nominate an individual for one award only. Please note that students who are nominated will be directed to complete the remaining application portion. Faculty/staff that are nominated will be directed to submit a resume. It is recommended that you notify anyone that you are nominating so that they can be ready to submit the required materials.
